SRI LANKA FIRST ENTRY TO RFC WAS BACK IN 2006.
Making history for SRI LANKA (SL) at the international 4x4 motorsport racing arena. The FIRST SL entry to Rainforest Challenge was in 2006. How did it come about? Read Navin Marapana’s full account of those pioneering days in 25RFC SILVER JUBILEE 2020 BOOK Excerpts: “It was December 2005. Indika & I had won our first 4x4 Competition, the 2005 4x4 Challenge in Sri Lanka. Thus, as with most first timers we thought anything was possible. Although competitive 4x4 was in its infancy in Sri Lanka, those in the racing community had heard about the RFC and its standing around the world as the dream event for any 4x4 Pilgrim. It was soon after the 2005 Sri Lankan Challenge award ceremony that the idea first entered my head that Indika and I should enter the RFC.” Note: From that first foray into RFC, they has become the most successful 4x4 duo in Sri Lankan motorsports.
